- I have a 3000 with no terminators but sockets for them on the
- motherboard. I also have a 3000 that is my brothers which has terminators
- installed. I have been trying to hook up an external CDROM ID 0 (hard drives
- ID 6 and 5). Since I was having no success, I tried to take the terminators
- out of my brothers computer. Yikes! They were soldered onto the motherboard
- and to my dismay, one broke as I tried to pull it out. Now, I pray that his
- 3000 will work just fine with a chunk out of one of his terminators, and it would
- seem to fix the problem I'd have to remove his board and solder on a new one.
- Is this necessary, and if I have to replace it, do I have to get a special one,
- or is any eight pin terminator okay? My brother will be ... well, a tad upset if
- his computer is screwed.
- Also, I have since added 8 pin terminators
- to sockets on my motherboard and the machine stills works okay. Will these
- terminators that I took off of a old Quantum drive hurt my computer?
